The 166th British Open playing the set work, ‘A Brussels Requiem’ by Belgian composer Bert Appermont makes its UK contest debut at Symphony Hall.
The composition reflects on the tragic circumstances of the terrorist attacks in the Belgian capital in March 2016 that left many innocent people dead and injured, and through a series of beautifully lyrical solos provides an uplifting message of hope.
